Voiamo Group was formed in September 2007 by its chief executive, Nigel Bramwell, who has 27 years experience in the mobile telephone industry.  Its key executives also all have a long track record of success in the telecoms industry.

Voiamo has been established to address the closed and uncompetitive roaming market that has meant that high prices have been maintained, largely for the benefit of Tier 1 mobile operators. Using the Voiamo platform, international travellers will initially have access to data communications service outside of their home country at much lower tariffs than currently available under existing roaming arrangements, without the shortcomings and inconvenience of many of the alternatives currently on offer for avoiding roaming costs.
